To be a pirate you must have weapons, one could have a whale cutter, a blunder buster, flintlock pistol, a boarding axe, a club, canon, a knife, but the most importune is ones sword. it says a lot about a pirate. The sword can be fancy or plane it can be sort ( easier to fight on a ship with ) or long broad or thin it just has to be sharp, and to the point.
