The day was calm the wind was from the west. The small island where we were anchored off looked so inviting. The cove we were settled in was now occupied by a few other fellow vessels. It seemed that we were all hiding from those that did not like our way of life, or just wanted to hang us. The air was filled with the scent of coconuts and flowers. Our ship was considered one of the toughest ones in the local waters and as a crew we were also greatly feared. Yet, at times like this, no one cared that we were here.
The captain decided to throw a small party on shore. This sounded like the perfect way to hide. As the dingy left the ship, I found myself not on it. Three other crew members were on board, and one was the new guy with no more than a few months with the crew!!! What could I do? Well...I jumped overboard and swam to shore and played with the island girls, like any good respectful pirate would do.
Oh, I love the life of a pirate!
